Logan's Sunflower

My mom gave Logan a book back in the spring along with a packet of sunflower seeds. The Sunflower Parable is coincidentally about a little boy named Logan who grows his own sunflowers.

Our Logan has been waiting all summer for the arrival of his flowers. Only 2 grew out of the seeds about a couple weeks ago one of the sunflowers lost it's life due to a squirrel. Since then I've been hoping and praying that the other one would last and flower soon. Since the flower is right outside Logan's window, he's been checking on it every day when he wakes up in the morning and after his nap.

A couple days ago he had a great surprise when he looked out and actually saw some yellow on it. Today it was in full bloom. Logan is so proud of his sunflower and looks at it in utter amazement every time he looks at it!

Both boys posing with the sunflower!

The blue sky created a great backdrop for the photo shoot.

We waited all summer for this!

If you click on this one to enlarge it, you can see the moon in the background.

I wasn't very successful getting a shot of them and the flower.

Side profile

It is rather pretty looking.

See the bee on it?

A cool shot from below.

I'm sure we'll spend lots of time in the coming weeks admiring the sunflower!
