More Birthday Fun!

Oops, I guess I never posted the rest of the pictures from Logan's birthday!

His actual birthday (October 17) was a Monday so we didn't do anything out of the ordinary. He and Jacob and I went to the library for story time in the morning and then home for a regular afternoon. Scott had to work a bit late but he got home in time to open presents and have some birthday cake!

Trying to "pose" for the camera.

4 year old CHEESE face.

Getting into the presents!

What is it?

His very own bowling ball!

Is it cake time yet?

Classic Logan trying to blow out the candles.

Trying again...

Success!

Waiting so patiently for some cake.

Mel and Dennis get Married!

We were lucky enough to be invited to the wedding of some friends a few weeks ago. Melissa and I worked together at UW and I was super happy to be included in their day. They were married at the Three Bridges Conference Centre in St Jacobs and everything was lovely.

The happy couple enjoying their first dance.

Nicholas, one of our table mates.

This would have been a nice picture if he hadn't of stuck his tongue out...

Guess this one will have to do.

Congrats to Melissa and Dennis! A beautiful way to start your lives together.

A Trip to the Dump!

A couple of weeks ago, Scott and Logan went on a tour of the local dump. Logan was pretty excited to see the garbage and recycling trucks but I'm not sure who had more fun!

On the bus tour.

32 stories up looking out over the dump.

That's a lot of crushed pop cans!

Learning about the recycling process.

During the tour, they learned that the dump here only has about 20 years left in it if we continue to fill it at the current rate. Definitely a good reminder to keep reducing your garbage and using your green bin and recycling box!

Flashback: Oktoberfest Parade

On Thanksgiving Monday, we attended the annual Oktoberfest Parade. We've managed to do this each year since Logan was born so it's actually becoming a family tradition! A pretty good accomplishment too since the parade starts at 8:30am and you typically need to be there an hour early to get a good place to sit!

I volunteered to go sit on the sit of the street for an hour while Scott tended to the kids. In my mind, sitting on the street in quiet vs. taking the kids for breakfast was by far the better choice. Scott dropped me off at 7:30am and I quickly noticed that the sidewalks were already very full. I quickly grabbed a spot and settled in.

It was a BEAUTIFUL morning! Warm, bright, sunny.

Just up the street from where I was sitting.

Ok, so it was a little boring.

They arrived! (I took 5 pictures, this was the best one, haha).

It seemed to take forever to start. They must have looked up the street a million times.

Posing for the camera.

Cutie

I like this funny face.

Something must have been loud.

Pointing and making his "seagull" noise at something.

Logan loved the bands. He started clapping and tapping his foot every time one came by.

I don't know if it was the great weather or the ages of the kids but the parade flew by. It was about 2 hours long but you'd never know it. We loved the whole thing!

Birthday Fun

On Sunday we headed to Norwich to spend the day. We went to church at Norwich United to see a friend preach for the anniversary service and then headed to mom and dad's for lunch and

Birthday Cake!

Trying to blow out the candles...

Being silly!

Logan's great-grandma joined us in the afternoon. She took much delight in reading to Logan (after scolding those of us who sometimes skip parts in books) and playing marching band with the boys!

Reading time.

And of course, presents!

Happy 4th Birthday Logan!

Today, Logan turns 4. He is no longer a toddler and is now a preschooler. Next year he'll be starting school...wow, he's getting old!

Just born.

The morning of his 1st birthday.

Around age 2. He is about the age that Jacob is now.

Ready for cake for his 3rd birthday.

Almost 4 years old. :)

Happy birthday big guy, we love you!
