Exploring our own City

We're pretty good at taking the kids out and doing lots of different stuff with them but there are lots of things really close to home that we've never tried out!

A couple weeks ago we loaded into the van and headed to the trails at RIM Park by the Grey Silo Golf Course. We took a good walk through the trails and even though they got a little bored the boys sitll asked if we could go back another time!

I attempted a pic of all three of them...

We got to see some people canoeing too.
It was a beautiful day.
After our walk, we headed to a new to us playground that everyone loved.

The boys wanted to drive Norah around.
She loves slides.
Whee!
She's a climber!
2 cuties.
Playing store.
A sweet picture of Norah on the fake grass.

Camping

At the end of July, my mom and I took the kids camping at Laurel Creek Conservation Area. It was super close to home so Scott was able to come by in the evenings to join us.

We had a broken tent pole, a leaking tent, more rain than we were hoping for and some cranky kids once and a while but we did ok.

Checking out the boat dock in the early morning.
Norah on the beach.
Playing with Logan.
A rare moment of her sitting still.
All three kids watching daddy cut wood for the fire.
Everyone loved the fire...especially Jacob!
The boys at the beach.

Visiting Norwich

The summer usually brings a few extra trips to Norwich to use the pool and air conditioning! This year there is a new splash pad in town so we decided to check it out too!

The Optimist group in Norwich did some serious fundraising to be able to add the pad to the community.
Jacob pushing the button to turn it on.
Logan loves the water shooters.
It was a pretty dark day but the boys still had fun.
Some of the cool water features.
Again with the shooter.
It was a cool day so we made Norah watch from the sidelines.
Contemplating what to do next.
This umbrella of water is my favourite.

We then headed to mom and dad's for some more water fun.

Even Scott who cleaned the eaves troughs.
Swimming with Grandma.
 Norah with Grandma.
She loved floating around.
:)
Three floaters.

Sprinkler Fun

August hasn't been very warm but July was HOT so we pulled the sprinkler out on many occasions. It was Norah's first experience and she loved it!

Watching from the side.
Getting lightly sprinkled.

A shot of everyone cooling off.
She couldn't crawl yet when I took these pictures so we used her car to push her through!

Last Day of School

With the first day of school just around the corner, I better get these pictures up!

I took a few pictures of Logan on his last day of school. His year of SK really seemed to fly by. He certainly changed a lot and learned so much.

Notice that he now wants to be a police officer.
He makes really strange faces for the camera these days...
Poser.
The backpack still looks big on him.
Off to 1st grade soon!
You can remember his first day here.

Scott's Birthday

The birthday guy!
Lemon pie for dessert.
Blowing out the candles.
Reading a card from Logan.
And from Jacob.
(This happened a long time ago, so I forget what we gave him as gifts, haha).

Cooling Off

During that really hot week in July the kids and I met up with friends at the Lion's Lagoon splash pad at Waterloo Park. We had only been there once before but it's free this summer so it was worth h

Jacob cooling off.
Norah loved the water too!
After only 15 minutes of playing, Jacob and Emma were already bored.
Hanging out with her big bro.
7 kids, 7 and under. It's like feeding vultures!
Happy girl.
