Trick or Treating!

Logan has never been trick or treating before. He was only a couple weeks old for his first Hallowe'en. His second one, he wasn't walking yet and then last year he just seemed so young still. I tried to build it up this year for him and really explain what would be going on.

We had gotten a dinosaur costume from a neighbour for him to wear which we were planning on using until one day he declared that he wanted to be a "worker like Daddy". So that's what he was.

We took a few pictures before getting into all the warm clothes!

The little worker.

Not sure what this face is all about.

The little spider!

He was more interested in looking inside the pumpkin than having his picture taken.

Oh, hi mom!

The best shot I got of the two of them, haha.

We headed out into the cold not sure what to expect. Logan was a bit cautious at the first few houses and made sure than Scott or I were following him up to the door but he quickly caught on and wanted to do it "all by myself". He said "trick or treat" at each door and happily ran down the driving telling us that he got "MORE CANDY!" We were out for nearly an hour when Scott and I told Logan it was time to go home; we were cold! I must admit, for someone who isn't really into Hallowe'en, it was so great to watch him run around and have so much fun.

Once we put Jacob's snowsuit on under the costume, he had a hard time moving.

Logan looked like he had big muscles with his coat on.

:)

Going up to the first house.

Doing it on his own!

I don't think Jacob was really impressed, but he didn't complain either. What a trooper!

Enjoying some treats at home.

Mmmm, chips.

Daddy's happy about the candy too!

Logan checking for more trick-or-treaters!

Maybe Hallowe'en is starting to grow on me a bit...

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins on Thursday night. Logan helped Scott carve one and then Scott did the other on his own after the boys went to bed. (Have I mentioned I'm not really into Hallowe'en?)

Cutting off the top..

Getting ready to empty it out!

Pumpkin guts!

Jacob watches from the sidelines.

Drawing on the face.

Corn Maze Adventures

After the birthday party on Sunday, we headed to Norwich to try out the Optimist Corn Maze. Mom had called and warned us that it was VERY muddy so we arrived prepared!

Arriving at the farm.

Logan climbing up to the top of the slide.

Excited to slide down.

Wheeeeee!

Heading into the maze...not sure what to expect.

Logan held hands with Grandpa through the whole maze.

Counting the ears of corn.

Our group.

Scott artistically took a picture of the corn.

Ok, so obviously we made it out of the maze. Logan had fun. I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of a corn maze. Sure, it was cool...but I guess I don't really get the point? We just kind of wandered around and around and around until we got out. Is that all there is to it?

Logan tried his hand at some pumpkin bowling.

Grandma and Jacob watch the action.

Scott sets the pins.

Sweet Jacob.
(Does anyone know how to edit pics so I can get the blue port a potty out of the picture....?)

Logan throws balls in the milk cans. He loved this game. Even Jacob was clapping and cheering for him!

Jacob loved the animals...this kid has no fear!

Emily Turns 1!

Our neighbour, Emily, turned 1 over the weekend. The boys were invited to her birthday party at Busy Bees Playground in Kitchener. We had never been there but it was a great indoor playground, the kids had a blast.

Jacob takes it all in.

I think this must have been Logan's favourite. he kept returning to it to play with it.

The birthday girl!

She was hard to catch on photo, she kept moving!

Logan's Swimming Lessons

Logan has been taking swimming lessons for a few weeks. The class that he is in is a transitional class. He goes for the first half of the classes with Scott and then the rest without Scott. Next week Scott will be in the pool for half the lesson and out of the pool for the other half. The hope is that Logan will be comfortable enough with the water and his instructor to not need mommy and daddy in the pool with him!

Last week Jacob and I went to watch. This did not work out as well as we had hoped. Logan was really distracted by us being there; despite the fact that the viewing area is very far away. And Jacob just wasn't too keen on being there. He just wanted to climb the stairs...over and over and over again. Needless to say, we won't be going back again! But I did get a few pictures!

I think he was trying to get my attention here...

Swimming with Heather while Daddy watches.

Throw a ball...

... now swim and get it!

He does love swimming.
