The Great Christmas Tree Hunt 2012

We headed out to Benjamin Tree Farm in early December to find out tree. It was damp and rainy and VERY muddy, but we needed a tree, so off we went.

Logan and Jacob searching for our tree.

This one?

The boys approve!
Look! Norah and I were there too.
Supervising the cutting process.
Wondering what all the fuss is about.
And it's down.
No snow this year...just mud.
Taking the tree to the van.
We headed home, went through a drive thru and ate take out while watching a movie. :)

Norwich Santa Claus Parade

Back at the beginning of December, we went to Norwich to watch the Santa Claus Parade. It was actually a decent parade for Norwich with more than the usual of firetrucks and tractors!
Norah (unhappily) all bundled up.
Waiting with Grandpa for the parade to start.
All three kids waiting.
Watching a firetruck go by.
Wondering what all the excitement is about.
A snowplow with a de-icer on the back.
The big man himself!
After the parade we headed to the fire hall for hot chocolate and to wait (in a very slow line) to see Santa! The boys waited patiently for their turn. Poor Norah fell asleep before we got to Santa.

Logan requesting a doctor kit.)
A FABULOUS picture of Jacob and Santa. (He asked for a "blue bear like Logan.")

Baptism

All three of the kids were baptized at the end of November. It was a lovely day where we were surrounded by our families as we took part in the sacrament.

Talking about baptism.
Laying hands on Jacob.
Logan is baptized.
Laying hands on Norah.
Goofy Jacob.
Logan was quite sick that day. He was a trooper but  put his pjs on when we got home and went to bed as soon as the gifts were opened.
Jacob playing pass the Rubik's Cube with his big cousins.
(I can't get the pictures in order for some reason...)

Our family at the font.
Norah in her baptism gown - the same one that Pamela and I  wore for our baptisms.

Oh how he loves her!

Jacob ADORES Norah. She is over 6 months old now and he is still majorly obsessed with her! When I walk around the house carrying her, he walks beside, holding her foot. When he came to visit us in the hospital, he ran to her crib as soon as he got there to see her and when we finally came home, he spent a LONG time talking to her, touching her, holding her and cuddling her. He loves his baby sister!

Cute cuddles on the couch.

Norah on the other hand doesn't seem to have quite as much love for him. It is usually she that signals that she is done with their "together" time.

"Are you going to help me here mom?"
"Please, no, not a toy!"
Ok, I'll lay here for a bit...
And done.
After quite a protest from Norah, Jacob does give up eventually.
I think she's in trouble when she is older and will have a protector in Jacob always!

6 Months Old!

Today Norah turns 6 months old! Time is flying and it's hard to believe that she's growing up so fast!

Dressed in her best for cousin Leah's baptism.
Norah is still a lightweight weighing somewhere between 10 and 11 pounds and still wearing her 3 month clothing!

Finally starting to smile more!
We've managed to help her sleep a little bit better at night which means a much happier baby during the day.

Flying with mommy.
At this point, Norah still prefers mommy to anyone else but hopefully once she starts eating more solids and knows that others can feed her, she'll like them too!

First taste of cereal....yuck!
We started solids on the weekend and she is not a fan of cereal. She seems to like sweet potatoe though and was a huge fan of the strips of toast I gave her that were drenched in butter. :)

Happy 6 months baby girl! I'm sure the next 6 will fly by just as fast!

The Best Part....

Of Logan being at school (in Jacob's eyes...) is not having to share anymore.

Just Kids

I'm trying to make a point of taking more candid pictures of the kids. Posed shots are not working so I'm trying to catch them naturally...

Showing Norah some love.
This would be a cute one if it didn't look like he was picking his nose.
Serious face.
Big Bro and Lil Sis.
Mom, are you sure this is safe?
Hehe, all her little hairs are sticking up.

Halloween Fun

Logan got to wear some of the pieces of his costume to school this year! There were 5 pirates in his class.
Norah in her festive bib.
Halloween sleeper!
Checking out their treat bags from Grandma!
Hanging out in the swing.
In full pirate attire.
Jacob dressed as a "worker like daddy".
He's really hard to take a picture of these days.
Trying to get them both in one shot...
Haha.
Semi success.
And we're done.
Norah had a nasty cold so she and I stayed home (out of the rain) to give out candy.
Which house first?
Come on Jacob!
Checking out his candy.
Yum!
