African Lion Safari

While Pamela was here, Scott took a day off and we went to check out the African Lion Safari. We had gone a couple years back when Logan was younger (which you can read about here) and thought that the boys were at an OK age to have a good time.

We got there before the drive through part opened so we opted to check out some of the other animals before it got too busy.

The boys checking out some birds.

Just Logan.

Our crew, minus me.

Daddy found a feather for Logan to cart around all day...awesome.

Teeny, tiny newborn goats.

Even newer goats enjoying their breakfast.

A bald eagle having breakfast. (You don't want to know WHAT it's eating).

Logan and Aunt Pamela checking out some more birds.

Snapping a photo of some of her fav animals...

The flamingos!

The elephant family.

Getting ready to see all the other animals! I'm not sure if Logan was more excited to see the animals or to sit in the back with Aunt Pamela, haha.

Our driver. :)

Lions

Ostrich (perhaps emu?) eggs.

Pecking on the window to protect the nest of eggs.

The boys did really well as we drove through. It wasn't until pretty close to the end that they started to loose interest. I was impressed! We parked the van again and headed back into the park to check out the "boat tour".

The boat "toured" around a few little "islands" that they had which housed some more animals.

It was so cute how Jacob was holding onto his hat so it didn't blow away.

Next we headed to the train ride,

Everyone (except me) on the train.

Can you spot the turtle sunning on the log?

Serious Jacob.

Taking in the sights.

Camels all in a row.

Camels and elephants!

"Hey! What's over there?"

Proof that I was actually there. :)

One of the deer blocked the fence so we couldn't get out.

Once they realized they wouldn't be able to get out, they all headed back.

Jacob and Aunt Pamela

Splash pad fun!

Heading to check out the water.

Logan even checked out the "big kid" area. See him climbing up?

Coming down the big slide!
