A New Couch

The couch that used to be in our rec room was a couch that the previous owners of this house left behind. Who knows how long they had it before we moved it but it was quite well loved!

Before Jacob was born and we had an extra room upstairs, we had a futon in the spare room so that if we had someone spend the night, they had somewhere to sleep. When we got Logan's "big boy room" ready we no longer had an extra room.

We wanted to keep the futon so that if we had overnight guests (mostly my mom!) they would have somewhere to sleep. So we moved it downstairs and put it in the kid's play corner in the rec room. It was taking up a lot of space there and our old couch really needed to be replaced....

So, we bought a new one! A few weeks ago, we dropped Logan off at a friend's place and went in search of a sofa bed. That way we got a new couch and somewhere for our guests to sleep all in one.

Today was delivery day! When Logan got up this morning the couch was gone, he was quite surprised.

Just an empty space.

I explained that a new couch was coming and he was pretty excited. He told me that he wanted it to be an orange couch!

We lined the kids chairs up so they had somewhere to sit this morning.

The delivery guys called when they were about 15 minutes away so we headed upstairs to wait for them.

It was a big of a struggle to get it in the house and down the stairs. They had to take the handrail off as well as the baby gate to squeeze it through and since it's a sofa bed, it's heavy! But they got it through with Logan watching silently.

As soon as they pulled back out of the driveway, Logan ran downstairs to check it out.

He jumped on and said "It's not orange mommy, brown couch!"
