Easter Weekend 2010

Scott had a bowling tournament on Easter weekend so I had planned to take the boys to my mom's house for a change of scenery and some extra hands to help me out! We ended up being there 2 weekends in a row because of our bathroom reno but we still found lots to keep us occupied.

Scott drove us to meet my mom on Thursday morning and then he headed to Hamilton to bowl in the Ontario 5 Pin Bowling Championships as a member of the mixed team. He would bowl 13 games over 2 days and maybe more if their team qualified for the finals.

So mom, the boys and I headed for Woodstock to visit my grandma for a bit before lunch.

A picture of the 4 of us. Logan didn't want to be in the picture, so I held him but by then, Jacob was done co-operating.

Jacob and his great-grandma.

Logan explored around his great-grandma's room while we visited asking what everything was. He sat on the walker and wanted to be wheeled around the room! He also occupied himself by taking pictures with the camera. He walked up to each of us and said "Say cheese!" and then clicked a picture.

Here's a self portrait he took. It's a pretty good one!

We took grandma down to the dining room for her lunch and then headed to McDonalds for lunch for us!

Logan enjoying his apple juice.

Jacob didn't have anything to eat but he did try and pick the hamburger up off the tray!

We headed to Norwich and the boys both had a nap. When they got up we went out for a walk (since the weather was so awesome!) and hung out for the rest of the day. My brother Scott and his girlfriend Jamie arrived in the afternoon too so they played with Logan and joined us for dinner.

Logan and Grandma read books together every night before he went to bed.

On Good Friday, we walked to church and met the boys other great-grandma who came to visit for the day.

After a delicious Easter lunch, my dad and Jacob and I headed to Hamilton to watch Scott bowl while Logan stayed at home with my mom. The bowling alley was packed as usual but unfortunately for our timing, we only got to watch one game and they didn't do so well.

We returned to Norwich for dinner and put the boys to bed. Scott called when they were done bowling for the day to say that they had finished in fourth so they would be bowling on Saturday in the finals.

The next morning, dad headed to Hamilton on his motorcycle to watch the bowling and mom and the boys and I got ready for Norwich's annual Easter egg hunt. Mom nor I had attended before but she was helping to organize it so the boys and I walked to Peter Lossing Park (which I had no idea existed!) to meet her and check it out.

Logan waiting to go get some eggs!

He found one!

I think Logan got 3 eggs! Which is pretty good for a kid who had no idea what was going on and wanted to open each one. He didn't really understand the urgency of looking for more.

Enjoying his chocolate findings.

Afterwards, we headed to the Curling Club in Norwich (I knew it existed but wasn't sure where it was...) for lunch and some fun and games.

Logan enjoyed a hotdog and apple juice for lunch; 2 of his favs.

Jacob ate some of Logan's hotdog bun, but mostly enjoyed playing with the table cloth.

Logan got a tattoo of a fish. (He checks to see if it is there every morning...I'm not sure what will happen once it fades away...)

He also had his first face painting experience.

Checking it out in the mirror.

His Easter egg!

The boys and I headed back to my parent's place for their naps. I quickly checked the messages on the phone to see if Dad had called with an update of the bowling. There were 4 messages. Scott's team entered the finals in 4th place. They would first play the 3rd place team; then if they won, the 2nd place team; then if they won again, the 1st place team. In order to win, they would have to beat the 1st place team twice.

I listened to the messages each one confirming that they had one the game and would be advancing. They did indeed beat the 1st place team twice!

Logan congratulating daddy on the phone.

Scott and his team will represent Ontario at the Canadian 5 pin bowling championships in Winnipeg in June. Congrats!

We headed outside to play with Logan's new bubbles after the boys took their naps.

Jacob watching intently.

Logan SO excited with his bubbles.

Grandma trying not to get totally covered in bubble stuff!

We spent the night in Norwich again with Scott joining us later in the evening. We all headed to church in the morning (8am!), had breakfast and then we got in the car and came back to Waterloo.

I tried to take pictures of the boys in their "Easter clothes"....

We gave Logan some chocolate to get him to sit still and he kept trying to feed Jacob...

This might be the best one...

Just Jacob.

Sweet Logan

Going for some more chocolate.

Loud Logan

And then I gave up.

The boys played outside with their Easter gifts from Grandma and Grandpa (who are more affectionately known as Bubba and PaPa).

Daddy helping Logan learn to golf.

Jacob enjoying the outdoors.

During naps, the Easter Bunny even stopped by our house.

For Logan

Discovering his loot!

Jacob exploring the basket grass.

So that was Easter...the post is only a couple days late!
