Beach Day!

On Sunday, we spent a good part of the day at the Turkey Point Beach! We had planned to go the night before but when we got up on Sunday, the weather was dark and rainy. I texted my mom (who was going to come with us) and she said it was also raining at her place, so we canceled. :(

But then it started clearing, so we decided to just go! As soon as we got to Norwich to pick mom up, it was raining again and we drove though some heavy rain and very dark clouds on the way there. BUT, then it cleared! The beach was almost empty when we got there and the weather just got warmer and clearer. There was a bit of a breeze which created some waves too!

The kids took no time getting into the water.
Drilling into the sand on the shore.
Norah squealed with delight for the first while we were there. She LOVED it.
Splashing in the waves.
Daddy too!
It was brighter than this...guess my camera settings were off a bit.
Burying Jacob in the sand.
:)
Lunch break!
Just floating.
Seriously loved it.
Playing frisbee.
She was COVERED in sand.
Grandma came too!
Daddy buried them both in the sand.
That's our friend R with Logan. She is the same age as Norah.
Her parents and baby brother joined us too!
Pouring water on the sand kids.
Jacob too!
Eating some very sandy cookies.
It was a wonderful day! Hopefully we can get a few more trips in this summer!

End of Soccer

A couple weeks ago was the end of Logan's soccer season. Since Waterloo Minor Soccer has adopted "long term player development" they don't keep actual scores so there are no standings so it's not really a season tournament, just a couple of games played for fun in one day. And then medals to be given out to everyone.

It was a beautiful day to spend at the field! (Logan is #2 on the green team, he's wearing a Blue Jays hat)

He spends a lot of time talking to his teammates...

Taking a kick.

Pass!
He had a really good season. He actually did develop some skill and also gained a lot more confidence on the field. He actually enjoyed playing and was into the games most of the time.
Getting his medal from his coach.

His team, The Green Bushes.
Yay Logan!

Riding the Train!

On Saturday, we finally took a trip with the Waterloo Central Railway. We see the station at Waterloo Park quite regularly and can hear the train whistle from our house and the boys (mostly Jacob) are always asking to go on the "St. Jacobs Train". Last week, the boys started swimming lessons and we were driving by the train daily, so I finally ordered some tickets!

It was a bit of a dreary day and I had the wrong lens on my camera (so all the pictures are super close up!) but we had a great day.

Checking out the train before leaving.
Looking at the engine? Oh, maybe it's the caboose?
Jacob with his ticket.
He was NOT happy waiting, he just wanted on the train.
Logan with his ticket.
Letting off some steam.
The conductor.
Looking out the window.
Finally! We are on the train!
Norah loved it too.
A view from the inside.
The train leaves Waterloo Park and makes two stops. One at the market and one in the village of St. Jacobs. Since we go to the market often, we decided to ride right to the village on this trip.
He was very happy.
The Conestoga River.
Lunchtime in St. Jacobs.
Waiting at the station to take the train back to Waterloo.
Here comes the train!
