Logan's Last Gymnastics Class

Yesterday was Logan's last gymnastics class. Since January, he's been going weekly to Shining Star Athletics and learning lots of fun gymnastics moves. It was a great class with just 5 kids around Logan's age. Jacob and I dropped him off every week and he did the class on his own, he loved it.

My mom joined Jacob and I yesterday for his last class to watch what he had learned, it was great!

Sitting on the mat waiting for class to start. I think Jacob thought he could just sneak in ad join the class.

His coach, Kate, is asking him what animal he would like everyone to be to run across the room.

He chose for everyone to be a TIGER! (Better than the camel he picked the week before...still not sure how one would move like a camel!)

One of the other kids decided they should be giraffes!

Getting a bean bag to practice balancing.

Jacob watches closely.

Working the hoop! (Picture taken by my Mom)

With the bean bag on his head.

Getting ready to stretch.

Smelling their stinky feet!

Upside down!

Logan demonstrates the "donkey kick". (Picture taken by Mom)

Preparing to jump off the red block. This was quite an accomplishment for Logan!

Walking up the wall to do a handstand!

Swinging on the bar.

Getting ready to "spin the cat" with help from Kate.

Right upside down.

Finishing the flip.

Waiting on the rainbow mat for his next turn.

Jacob continues to watch patiently.

Doing star jumps on the trampoline.

At the end of class, Kate had them all get up on the block and do a "ta da" and then she gave them a treat and a list of what they had learned.

Yay!

He did his "tada" so fast, it was hard to get a picture! (Picture taken by Mom)

Great Job!

Logan loved every class he took. Hopefully we'll be able to sign him (and Jacob) up again sometime.

Dear Grandma...

Thanks for the stickers!

I put them all over me when Mommy was downstairs doing laundry...

Aren't I cute?

Love Logan

Mommy's Little Helper

Jacob has started wanting to help, a lot. He insists on taking something from the table into the kitchen after we eat. He grabs his broom whenever he sees me sweeping. He puts his diapers away and his dirty clothes in the laundry basket. Hopefully I can remind him of his current eagerness to help when he is a teenager...

A few days ago there was some spilled water so I had the mop out. He was entertained for about 20 minutes just pushing the mop around!

It took him a while to figure out to control it since the handle is so long.

A happy cleaner!

Concentrating...

I should have gotten him a bucket of water!

Hanging out with Grandma

My mom comes just about every week to visit with the boys and I. Sometimes we'll run errands in the morning, visit the library or Early Years Centre or just hang out and play at home. She always treats us to lunch...Logan has started picking (with a little bit of guidance) which restaurant we will visit.

We (mostly I!) totally appreciate her visits and look forward to them. Thanks mom!

Now that we're able to get outside more, we'll be able to start getting to the park again. For now, trips up and down the sidewalk can be just as fun!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I baked some shamrock cookies this week and we decorated them together.

Logan hard at work adding the sprinkles.

Jacob, hard at work eating.

Daddy, hard at work icing.

The assembly line.

Some of the finished product.

The boys and I also decorated more cookies yesterday with my mom...Logan and Jacob did the same thing and my mom took on the role of the icing!

Today mom was here and she and the boys and I all wore green shirts to be in the spirit. We should have taken a picture for the blog...our shirts were all different shades of green and actually looked quite awful together!

Hope someone out there had some green beer!

A New Tunnel!

The boys got a surprise yesterday when the mailman rang the doorbell with a big box for them! Inside of it was a new tunnel that Aunt Pamela had sent for them.

We got it open quickly and they loved checking it out! My mom took a bunch more pictures than I did but I didn't get them off her camera before she left. So for now these will have to do until I get hers.

Logan crawling through while Jacob timidly looks on.

Logan was quick to crawl around while Jacob took his time. He attempted to crawl through a couple times but ended up backing up after deciding he wasn't ready to go through the whole thing.

Checking it out...after this he was crawling around just like Logan.

Heading in!

Thanks Aunt Pamela! This was a great gift! Not only will it help keep us entertained while we are still inside a lot; it stores so nicely and small! We all love it.

Walks; Two Days in a Row

So it's actually been sort of nice the last couple of days and we've been able to get out in the morning for a walk. It's awesome. I realized today that this is the first time that Jacob has ever walked around our neighbourhood since he wasn't walking in the fall. He loves being able to check everything out!

Logan always rushes to any box on the side of the sidewalk.

He looks kind of like a marshmallow.

Splashing in the puddles.
Brothers walking together. :)

Jacob speeds up.

A path near our house.

How Logan passes the time on the walks...eating snow and ice.

Can you see Jacob way off in the distance?

Licking the snow off his glove.

Checking out his footprints.

The marshmallow from the front.

He climbs onto the snowpiles and says "I'm the King of the castle!"

This is where it ended for Jacob. He watched that guy forever and when I finally picked him up, he freaked out and had to ride in the stroller for the rest of the walk. So there aren't anymore pictures.

Jacob the Poser

Jacob has started to really ham it up for the camera. When he sees the camera come out, he says "CHEESE" (or some variation of the word) and strikes a pose. I've caught a few good ones lately.

All dressed up for church.

Playing dress up.

He tries to say hat now. Whenever he has something on his head he points to it and says "Hhhh".

Saying Cheese!

"I'm so cute!"

Still being cute...his shirt is wet because he was eating an apple. Somehow he ends up with it all over himself.

Now he seems too cool to have his picture taken.

(I also just noticed that he is eating in all these pictures as well!)

Family Stuff

Scott has been helping the boys build a fort in the rec room lately. They like to sit in it and read books.

We went out to Tim Horton's on Family Day (I know, Family Day was a long time ago!)

Scott set the camera to take these pictures...

Jacob couldn't stop eating long enough to get a picture taken.

Logan and Scott

Jacob, enjoying his Timbit!

For Aunt Pamela

Jacob likes his Vancouver shirt! (Logan's is still too big).
