A Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's

Scott had a little bit of work to do at my parent's place, Norwich was celebrating it's bicentennial anniversary and we had a party to attend that we didn't want to take the kids to so we headed to Norwich for the night last weekend.

On Friday afternoon we tried out the pool!

Jacob's so cute with his head lying down.

Just a kid at heart. :)

Jacob and Grandma.

I had to laugh at how white their bodies look against the water.

Logan stealing some blackberries from Grandma's bush.

Friday evening, I put Jacob to bed and then Scott and I headed to Selkirk to celebrate our friend Aaron's 30th birthday and ordination as a United Church minister. It was nice to get out together and catch up with some friends. The kids did great. Thanks for watching them, mom and dad.

On Saturday morning, mom was helping out with the Fishing Derby so Logan and I headed out to meet up with her while Jacob took a much needed nap.

Hanging out on the fire truck.

This step made a perfect seat for him.

Eating a big freezie!

A boy and a feather.

We met up with Scott and Jacob and headed to the Norwich Museum to check out what was going on there.

1/3 of the petting zoo...there was 1 cow, 1 sheep and 1 angry looking turkey.

There were A LOT of tractors...

Logan riding a big green one!

Maybe this is Jacob's 2nd life?

Checking out an old train car.

Since the museum was not overwhelmingly exciting; Jacob entertained himself with his toes!

Trying out yet another tractor.

Despite the fact that Jacob was awake a lot of the night when we were away, we had a great time! We'll be back to use the pool soon!

Joel's 1st Birthday Party

Our nephew, Joel, turned 1 on June 24. He was in Portugal at the time meeting some of his extended family on his mom's side. So when they got back Todd and Helena threw a bash for him on July 1st.

"Lemme at that cake!"

A family pic.

A fun one!

Enjoying his cake.

There was a pool but it was pretty chilly since the weather had been cooler and the heater was broken. Logan wanted to go in anyways and loved it even though his whole body was shaking from being cold!

Swimming with daddy.

Jacob was also dying to get in, so Great-Grandma Terry dangled his feet over the edge.

Logan was totally willing to help Joel open his gifts!

Joel was probably trying to give Logan his cup to distract him from the gifts.

Jacob gets in on the action.

3 cousins reading books together.

"Hey Joel! Give me that book!"

Happy Birthday, Joel. I can't believe the year has gone by so fast!

Nothing better...

on a hot summer day than popsicles!

Those diaper covers will never be the same...

So I'll never win the Organic Mother of the Year award or anything but the kids loved it!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Yesterday was Scott's birthday. We didn't have much planned, just to spend the day together!

We had pancakes for breakfast and then Logan gave Scott the card that he had made him. After Jacob's nap, we loaded up the car and headed to the splash park for some water fun and a picnic.

Trying to get a good shot of the three of them. The kids were too distracted by the water though...

He LOVED the water!

Splashing around.

Enjoying a yummy picnic.

We came back home and the kids both had a nap. We ran a few errands when they woke up and then fed the boys supper as Scott and I were going to eat after they went to bed. We did sing Happy Birthday with the kids though...well I sang, they just stared at me, haha.

Logan helping Scott blow out the candles.

Enjoying a birthday cupcake. (They were chocolate peanut butter!)

I think he liked it!

Unfortunately since there was peanut butter inside the cupcakes too, Jacob couldn't have one. I think he wanted one though!

We headed out to the park after dinner.

Jacob practicing his standing at the park bench.

Happy little guy!

Logan decided it would be fun to push daddy on the swing...

A new way of swinging!

Jacob refuses to sit down a lot of the time right now. At the park, the only place to have him stand was at the bench so he spent a lot of time standing there trying to turn around to see us.

2 swinging boys.

3 guys.

Happy Birthday Scott!

Fun Times as A Family

A couple of weeks ago (I think!) we headed out to the library for Family Fun Day. We weren't really sure to expect. It wasn't overly exciting but I think Logan had fun and it was certainly nice to get out of the house and enjoy a nice and FREE activity!

Logan got to check out a fire truck.

And an old police car.

Checking out some butterflies and bugs with Scott.

Reading a book with daddy.

It was fun to take Scott to the library. Logan liked being able to show him where to go and to find all the Caillou books he could so that they could read together!

Later that day, Logan helped me make rice krispie squares. I had a giant box of rice krispies in the cupboard with hardly any of them gone. I don't really like to eat them myself so I thought there'd be nothing easier than mixing them up with some marshmallows!

Helping me to stir the marshmallows.

He gave up on the stirring and just started eating, haha!

When Jacob woke up from his nap, they moved outside to play with bubbles!

It looks like Jacob is really concentrating on the bubbles here!

Laughing at Daddy.

Happy little guy.

Just waiting for those bubbles...

I'm not sure what was happening here, but I think it's a pretty funny picture and an awesome way to end this post.

:)
