Day off with Mommy

So, as usual I'm a bit behind, oops. On Monday, I took the day off to spend the day with Logan, it was a great day.

After breakfast we watched some Treehouse TV.

Then Logan showed off his climbing skills by scaling his change table.

We brushed our teeth together.

Once we were ready we headed to Cambridge to see Scott at work. Logan wasn't sure about all they guys in hard hats. It was super cold on the job site that day too so they were all bundled up as well.

From there we headed to Yorkdale to have lunch with Riann. I was hoping Logan would nap on the way to the mall since we'd be there right over his normal naptime. He dropped his bear when we were driving and I couldn't reach it. I hoped for a while that he would fall asleep, but he didn't. So finally I pulled off the highway to get it forhim. He fell asleep almost instantly; lesson learned....give him bear if he needs it, you'll get a better nap!

We got to Yorkdale and browsed around a bit before meeting Riann.

We met up with Ri and she bought Logan a few books about becoming a big brother then we headed to the Pickle Barrel (YUM!) for lunch. Logan was a champ through lunch and entertained us thoroughly. The three of us browsed the mall for a bit after lunch and before Ri had to catch the subway to work. Logan and I headed home shortly after she left and he took another nap on the way home.

Once we got home, Logan looked at his new books.

After reading his books, he sat on the couch with me. It looks like he's telling Peanut what he learned in his books, and preparing her for another baby too!

I don't know if you can tell but her tail is all puffed up in this picture...he must have scared her with what he said! (Or it could have been that she got mad when he pulled her tail).

It was a fun day together...

Finally Some Nice Weather!

We had a great Saturday today. Since there was no rain in the forecast, we thought it would be a good day to install the new window that we bought for the bedroom that will soon become Logan's. So after breakfast, Scott gathered all his tools and Logan and I headed out to the grocery store to get out of his hair for a while.

Scott worked on the window and Logan and I got all the groceries and then headed to Zellers to cash in on some super deals that they had on some toys. When we got home Logan just wanted to be with Daddy and seeing what he was doing. So I spent a lot time just trying to keep him out of the way but allow him to watch.

I decided to treat Logan to McDonald's for lunch since I thought he wouldn't be able to focus on eating at home while daddy was working. So we went out and had a happy meal and then came home for a nap...a nap that lasted for 3 hours almost! Wohoo!

By the time Logan got up from his nap, Scott was done with the window so they played together while I got supper ready. After supper we went out for a walk to check out a new playground in our neighbourhood. Logan had a great time until another family came and he got totally distracted watching them.

After our walk we came home and played for a bit until Logan went to bed. It was a fun day!

This is for Aunt Pamela...today was the first day that Logan wore this shirt....this was the best pic I could get, but it looked cute on him.

And here's the reason I couldn't get a better pic, everytime I pull out the camera, he lunges at me!

So it's been a while...again...I blame it on sickness brought home from daycare, sickness brought on by babies in bellies, exhaustion from life and just being busy in general!

Logan brought these prunes to us from the kitchen last weekend...he used to eat a lot of prunes when he was a baby but he doesn't anymore. I'm not sure if he would still like them!

We had a busy weekend this weekend. Scott's cousin Jennifer and her boyfriend Darren came over for dinner on Friday night. It had been a while since we had seen them last so it was a good visit!

On Saturday we went to Mindy and Colin's so Scott could help Colin with some demo in their basement. Logan and I spent the day playing with Mindy and the girls.

The seven of us went out to Boston Pizza for dinner...I wonder if we'll still be going out for dinner next year at this time when they have 2 more babies and we have 1....table for 10 please!

On Sunday we went to Norwich for the day. We went to church with my parents and then visited with them for the afternoon.

Hoping Spring Arrives Soon...

Although rainy, we've had decent weather this weekend and I'm seriously hoping that this will continue!

Logan had his last swimming lesson on Saturday morning. He loves swimming so much. He's now old enough to move on to the next level but we may skip a couple of sessions before signing him up again. If he starts right away, he'll have to do this class several times before he can move on due to his age.

Other than that, we didn't do much this weekend. We did manage to get out for a walk on Saturday before the rain got too heavy. Logan got to try out his rubber boots a bit more.

Scott was feeling so hot so Logan and I just spent some time playing together in the basement.

He loves climbing up on this stool and then standing up and sitting down over and over again. He's so proud of himself each time he stands up.

He had a bubble bath before bed. He kept trying to eat the bubbles...I guess they didn't taste too good.

A Mish Mash of Things

Again, it's been about a week (or more) since I last posted...oops. Because of that, today's post will be all over the board.

Logan's walking is going really well. He walks pretty much all the time, and if he falls or trips he gets right back up to walking again rather than choosing to crawl. He crawls a lot when he's playing outside (which allows him to get SO wet and dirty) but I think it's because he's always all bundled up...it looks like it would be hard to walk so that's likely why he chooses to crawl so often.

Other than that he's working on expanding his vocabulary as well. He now "meow's" like a cat, repeats "thank you" and he says the word "bear". Ok so maybe it doesn't sound exactly like "bear" but he says it whenever he brings over his "Brown Bear, Brown Bear..." book to be read...which he loves! (Thanks Aunt Susan...I think we all have the book memorized since we read it so much!) So on top of his other words he's definitely getting quite "chatty".

Something that he's decided he likes to do is sweep. He loves to push the broom around, which is actually quite helpful. I'm on the look out for a child-sized broom, if you see one, let me know!

Today we were out and decided to buy Logan a pair of rubber boots. Even if spring might not be here REALLY soon, I'm anticipating it so I thought it was important to get boots. I love the boots we got, they're so cute! Especially on my model...

Logan is usually pretty fussy between dinner and bedtime because he's so tired from the day's events. Today he wasn't though for some reason, so we had fun playing in the basement before bedtime.

Recently I put all Logan's baby toys away in a bin, but the bin never made it to the basement. Tonight Logan got it open and played with all his old toys again. Here he is pulling out some old treasures!

A Visit from Uncle Scott

My brother is home for reading week this week so he stopped by to visit Logan and I on Monday.

We had a good morning and it was fun to see Scott and Logan really interacting.

Since it was such a nice day, we bundled Logan up and took him to the park in his wagon.

We spent quite a bit of time playing at the park, Logan might have wanted to stay longer but I got cold! We came home and Scott played some Guitar Hero...while Logan helped!


We had lunch with Scott and then he headed out when I put Logan down for a nap. We had a fun morning!
