Just Another Saturday

Even though it's March Break, Saturday happens as it usually does around here. Scott headed out to bowling with the boys (Thanks for coming to see them Grandma and Grandpa!) and Norah and I stayed home. Norah would LOVE to go to the bowling alley more often but all she wants to do is slide down the ball return and run up the lanes. So we don't take her often...

She was awfully cute this morning so I tried to get a pic, but that too proved to be a challenge...

Probably the best one!
She is constantly rushing the camera and getting way too close.
And she never stands still, so it's blurry.
Cute, but blurry.
Her "cheese" face.
Then I tried to take one of both of us.
And quickly gave up.
Next, we headed to the kitchen to do some baking.

Pretty happy to be at the counter.
Taste testing!
This is fun!
Helping to stir.
Doing the dishes was her favourite part.
Bubbles (or some sort of rendition) is a part of her very limited vocabulary, it got lots of use in the sink though!
Basically, she just tried drinking out of anything cup like.
A snack after all that hard work.

I'm no food photographer but here's the finished product, lemon squares!

Now that Logan can read, he often retreats to his bed to read alone. It's awesome!
Jacob playing.
They call this "playing camping". When they bring their pillows downstairs and lie on the floor...
Trying out some mustaches Aunt Pamela sent us a while ago!

He was here today too!
 Playdough time!

Logan heard about testing the smoke alarms today on TVO kids. So they did it and printed out the certificate.

After supper treat.
We had another yummy supper and then took the kids swimming at the Rec Centre. I'm tired, anyone else?

March Break Day #1

In pictures...

Working TOGETHER on a picture from grandma.
Child labour at it's finest.
Norah getting in on the action. (Isn't that sun WONDERFUL?)
We had a little education session as I informed the boys how disgusting it is that our neighbours produce so much trash. This is two adult women in this household. I think that's 6 bags today! They often have around this much. It's just too much waste!
Norah had a meltdown (or two...or more...)
We took advantage of the above zero temps and went for a walk.
Norah too!
Poor Jacob. The snow was above his knees here.
Fun at the park!
Off to see the ducks. They were pretty sad to see the pond frozen over.
Jacob rediscovering his love for puddles!
Norah being silly in Logan's sweater.
Poser!
Siblings (Jacob was actually napping at this point!)
Playing dress up.
More child labour! (He ASKED to do cleaning!)
And lots of playing with babies.
We had a yummy supper of meatballs, rice and green beans and then took a trip to Walmart. I let the boys stay up past their bedtime (a whole 30 mins) to watch TV and then they dragged themselves upstairs saying how tired they were! Crazy kids!

So we survived day 1...just a few more to go!

Navy Club Christmas

(If there's anyone still checking..)

Today we went to the annual kid's CHristmas Party at the local Naval Association. They put on a good morning of entertainment, lunch and a visit with Santa
The three amigos in their Christmas duds.
Jacob participating in one of the songs.
Pretty girl watching from the table.
Logan (in the vest) being a pirate.
Norah and Santa (and no tears!)
A serious Jacob with Santa.
Happy Logan with Santa.

Happy 4th Birthday Jacob!

Another year has passed and today Jacob turns 4!

Our smallest baby at birth.
Sneaky 1 year old.
Wondering around the park at age 2.
On his way to meet daddy for a birthday lunch when he was turning 3.
Just last week before going to meet his teacher for the first time!

It was really nice to have a year at home with Jacob while Logan was at school. Even though Norah had to tag along with us, Jacob got to show more of himself to me and be the one who decides what to do when. He still seems so little but has tackled the first week of school without issue and is excited to go back

With his big brother before school. They fight but I think Jacob has been happy to have Logan to follow to know what to do at school.
Jacob loves to help at home. He likes to help me bake a lot and has started helping with supper when he can. He also LOVES vacuuming and he does a pretty good job

Getting the cat hair from under the buffet.

He still loves Norah and tells me every day after school that he really missed Norah. HE is also still attending speech therapy and is getting better all the time. Right now he's working on longer sentences and mastering words with several syllables.

Happy birthday Jacob!

Jacob's First Day of School

Jacob seems so little to be off to school already, but he is! We met his teacher on Tuesday and then he went on Thursday and Friday. This week, he'll go every day.

He's been a bit reluctant to talk about school and usually said he was nervous but he seemed awfully excited on his first day. I think that going to the bus stop daily last year prepared him for what it would be like. Plus all the kids already know him and talk to him.

He wants to be a garbage truck driver!
He was a little awkward to take a picture of.
That's a big backpack!
He wanted to show off his new shirt that was hiding under his sweater.
A failed attempt at a picture of all three of them.
Brothers off to school together.
The kids drop their bags at the bus stop and play until the bus comes. Jacob did that but quickly picked him back up, put it on his back and started asking when the bus was coming...he was pretty excited.

Just waiting.
Finally the bus arrived and off he went! He only turned around once when the driver told him to to wave at us!

Logan's First Day of School

Logan started Grade 1, French Immersion last Tuesday. He was pretty excited about heading back to see his friends this year! Much different from last year!

This year he wants to be a police officer!

Big guy ready for Grade 1
Enough pictures, Mom!
Side view.
He had a great first week and is already learning a lot of French!
