School BBQ

Last week, we attended a BBQ at Logan's school. We had burgers, visited with his friends, played outside and Logan had his face painted. He was pretty devastated when he found out that I would have to wash his face when we got home but taking a few pics helped!

In case you can't tell, he was a chameleon.

There was also a raffle for baskets that each class made up. Each room was given a theme and the children were to bring in small items to add to the basket. Logan won the Superhero one! I forgot to take a picture before we opened it but there was lots of great stuff!

Warm Weather Fun

Even though it's cold again today, last week it was HOT! Logan had a PD Day on Friday so we pulled out the water table and the pool for some wet fun in the back

Norah's first introduction to the water table.
She was more interested in what the boys were doing in the pool.
Trying to get a picture of all three looking at once...
Still trying...
There. If you look at each picture, you will see each kid looking once, haha.
Our blonde, ok, white haired beauty in pink.
Looking forward to many more warm days...hopefully soon.

Planting a Garden

We decided to try our hand at growing some vegetables again this year. Last year a rabbit ate most of what we planted. :( Instead of planting seeds, this year we used bigger plants, hoping the animals would not bother them.

Working with Daddy.
Norah watched from the sidelines.
Planting sunflower seeds.
(An animal dug these up and ate the seeds out of the shells. Luckily, grandma had some bigger ones in pots that she gave us. They are in the ground now, hopefully they make it!)

Jacob too!
Three kiddos.
We planted cucumbers, beans, tomatoes and green peppers. I wanted to get some lettuce too, but that hasn't happened yet.

Things are growing and getting bigger! The kids are excited most days to go out back and see how it is all doing!

Happy Birthday....To Me!

I don't often post pictures of myself on here so here are some from my birthday last month!

We had a yummy ice cream cake.
Almost a great picture of us!
Lots of help to blow out the candles.
Happy girl.
Opening presents.
I got some thoughtful gifts from Scott and the kids and then Michael and Andrea came over to stay with the kids while Scott and I went out for supper.

Farewell Waterloo Lanes

Waterloo Lanes, the bowling alley in Waterloo closed it's doors in May. It's 10 year lease was up and the landlord was not interested in renewing it. We took the kids there the day before it closed for one last game.

Logan was up first!
A shot of the lanes upstairs.
My little family.
Logan bowled 2 years of leagues at these lanes.
Jacob proved to have quite the bowling skill. He'll start in a league in the fall.
Norah was just an observer.
But she did get up close and personal with the balls!
I'm bummed that these are blurry but still a good shot.
3 cuties!
It's all history now!
Scott has been bowling at Waterloo Lanes since he was about 5 years old. They are trying to find a new location but it is proving to be more difficult than they thought. Hopefully there will be something new in the fall. If not, the boys and Scott will have to find leagues at one of the sets of lanes in Kitchener probably!

Trip to the Science Centre

A couple weeks ago, we took the kids to the Ontario Science Centre. We had a great time!

Norah checking out the fish.
And her own reflection!
She stood at the tank for a long time and especially liked when someone was looking at her from the other side.
In a funny mirror.
This was Logan's favourite exhibit. Fake guitars, music and a TV screen to watch yourself on.

Jacob liked putting the balls through these courses.
It was hard to get a picture of Logan with the reflective vest but he played here, putting "bricks" on a house for ages!
Looking at something interesting during lunch.
Awkward smile...
Caught mid bite!
Likely with a mouth full of cheese.
Scott was very excited at the chance to play the steel drums.

There was a special Video Game exhibit on. The kids weren't very interested so we didn't stay long but it was really neat to see how games have changed over the years.
Trying out pinball for the first time.
Jacob's turn!
