Norah's Lunch

So far, Norah has been my most challenging eater. When I find something she likes, I know she'll eat it...and a lot of it! But a lot of typical food that toddlers like seems to be a no go for her. And of course, her tastes are always changing.

Today for lunch I offered crackers, cheese, kielbasa, cucumber, mini dill pickles, and avocado hummus. Most kids would eat the crackers and cheese, right? My kid polished off the humus (and then tried to get me to give her mine), ate the pickles and then demanded I share my hard boiled egg with her.

I guess hard boiled egg is something I can add to the list of things to offer her!
Crazy kid!
Here she is practicing drinking out of an open cup.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Norah's hair clip for the day!

Trying to get a pic of all three green cuties.

Dressed in green to go back to school.
Maybe they do like each other?
Don't forget about Norah!
Apparently, I've only blogged once before on St. Patrick's Day, in 2011.

Simple Saturday

Today was a pretty simple day. We had planned to go to the Waterloo Region Museum after bowling this morning but when we got there it wasn't open yet (what place opens at 11am on a Saturday?!?) so we decided to just go home since it would be too long of a wait for it to open. Somehow though we did manage to fill our day!

Couldn't get one without food in her mouth...

Norah's first real craft!

The front. Ok, truth be told, she thought the glue was a "dip" for her fruit loops and never got any stuck on. She is only left with a rainbow of glue.
What she did for most of the craft time.

After supper, Scott took the boys swimming at the Rec Centre but I stayed home with Norah. The sun was shining so I took her out for a walk but the wind was SO cold that we weren't out for long. She did, however, enjoy the puddles! Aren't her pink splash pants cute? They even have little purple bows on them. Whoever thought that light pink was a good idea as a colour for outerwear hasn't met my daughter yet though.
She loves the outdoors! SHe's going to love summer.

Bring a Buddy

Last month, the boys participated in their bowling league's annual Bring-A-Buddy tournament. It's simple, you bring a (non bowling) buddy and bowl as a team! In previous years, Jacob has been Logan's buddy but now that they are both bowling, the got to bring actual friends!

Logan and his friend from school.
The best pic that Scott got of Jacob and William.
They had fun, really! He's just a shy kid.
All four boys at Tim Hortons celebrating their success!

Beautiful Day!

Today I had the windows open! It was so nice to have the fresh air in the house and to hear the water rushing through the eaves troughs and down the driveway. Spring IS coming! (After 10cm of snow tomorrow...)

Today my mom came and took the boys out for the day. The went to Funworx and then to see The Lego Movie. They had a great day with Grandma and were still talking about it when they went to bed. Thanks mom!
Everyone getting in on Grandma's texting.

My friend Alicia introduced me to the world's best chocolate chip cookie recipe about a year ago. This recipe creates the softest, chewiest cookies, they are SO good!

They are also super quick to make!
My baker in training.
Apparently Logan was playing dress up while we were baking.
Alicia is due to have a baby any day now and so she's been on my mind often. When zucchini was on sale at the grocery store on Monday I picked up a couple to make a chocolate zucchini loaf that I know she loves.

He's still helping!
The finished loaves and a few cookies in the background.
While we are talking about Alicia, you should check out her Etsy shop, The Mint Tree, and "like" her on Facebook. She's taking a bit of a break now while she waits for the baby to arrive but she still has a few things listed. We love her stuff!

Some Observations

Today, I took note of a few things...
1. Changing the sheets on a set of bunk beds should be an Olympic sport. Seriously. You could be marked on how tight the corners are and how much you do or don't sweat! I used to think changing the crib sheet was a challenge; compared to bunk beds, a crib is nothing!

2. Grocery shopping during March Break is not that hard! The store was not busy at all, and the kids all behaved!

3. I used to think that people who looked forward to having their kids home on break were crazy. But I feel like I'm joining that side. The slower mornings are nice as are the happy children who aren't so exhausted. (Remind me on Friday that I was feeling this way, ok?)

And now for some pictures, because we know that's why you are all here.

She loves when they are home. I think it's because they do things that I won't, like put her chair on the couch.
I think I am realizing that having some structured activity is the success to having them at home. (Thanks for the puzzle books, Grandma!)
What kept Norah busy while they did the books...pizza. She's a slow eater.
After their mandatory quiet time, I offered to play a board game with the boys until Norah woke up at which point I planned to take them all outside.
(This is Candyland, I won!)
3 painful games and 1 hour later Norah was still asleep but daddy came home, yay!
I managed to get him to play and I escaped upstairs to start dinner where I found Peanut also hiding out.
(I'm planning to put craft supplies in the drawer unit. Any suggestions on how to Norah proof it?)
Finally, we got outside!
Grass! It's coming back!
Scott got this shirt in the mail so I wanted to take a picture, then the kids wanted in on it. This is the best we got, haha.
(It says I (heart) 5 pin)

Tomorrow, Grandma comes to the rescue, yay!

Better Late Than Never! Christmas....

We weren't able to see Uncle Scott and Aunt Jamie for Christmas but they were nice enough to send gifts for the kids with my mom. Here's the sequence of the gift opening for your enjoyment!

The sleds have been awesome and have gotten so much use this winter. And Norah's clothes are so cute. Thank you!
