Panama: The Rest

Oops...I just found this post that I never finished or posted. Here are the rest of the pictures from our trip. They're backwards, but I don't feel like switching them around...so here they are!

On the bus, heading back to the airport :(

Jacob looking out the window.
A tired boy eating breakfast.
My view on the last morning.
Two boys before supper.
He looks SO big.
Just hanging out on the beach.
Digging in the sand.
Sharing an ice cream.

Nice watch...:)
One night at dinner.
I was there too!
Jenn and I.
Relaxing on our patio.
Jacob loves to sit on things and dangle his feet.
My three guys walking.
It must have been good!
Mmmmm!

Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend

We sold the car this week. Ever since we bought the van last fall, the goal was to sell the car. While it still runs and it is nice to have two vehicles, it was starting to cost quite a bit in repairs. We would rather get a little bit of money for it than to continue to dump money into it. Also from a financial and environmental standpoint, having one car seems much more reasonable for us.

On Tuesday we signed the ownership over and we're now a one car family again. I bought the car in 2003 and it has served us very well since then.

Logan and I were sad to see it go!

Saying goodbye.

Today I...

- Loaded, ran and emptied the dishwasher
- Made 2 dozen mini muffins and 6 regular size ones
- Cleaned the bathroom
- Stripped all the beds
- Remade all the beds
- Washed, dried and folded the old sheets
- Washed, dried and folded a load of towels
- Made, served and cleaned up breakfast
- Made, served and cleaned up lunch
- Made, served and cleaned up supper
- Shoveled the driveway
- Dressed both the kids in snowsuits and took them outside
- Changed Jacob's diaper many times
- Changed Jacob's outfit twice
- Painted with Logan
- Made Valentines with Logan and Jacob
- Did bedtime by myself since Scott was at bowling

And that is why I am now going to relax and not blog tonight even though I still have some more Panama stuff to post about; you'll have to wait.

Jacob still isn't sure about snow...although he did get around quite a bit today!

Logan on the other hand, loves the white stuff!

Jumping in!

Panama: The Booze Cruise

On Wednesday afternoon, my mom watched the boys and Scott and I headed out on a "booze cruise". We took a boat out to an island just off the beach where you could choose to go snorkeling (I obviously did NOT) and then the boat sailed around for a couple hours while drinks were served and dancing occurred.

The island destination.

There was even a pirate on board!

Vegetation on the island.

The other side.

Darren tries out snorkeling.

Scott, ready to go.

Heading to the cave that they couldn't go it. Apparently as the tide rises, the head space disappears, so they just don't let anyone in !

Lauren poses on the boat.

Ahhhh

Uncle Tom swims back...why didn't you wear goggles?

Lauren and the pirate break it down.

It was a great afternoon!

Panama: Jenn and Darren's Wedding!

Although, it hasn't been mentioned yet, the entire purpose of this trip was to see Scott's cousin Jenn get married! Jenn and Darren tied the knot on January 20 in a beautiful ceremony on the beach, it was wonderful!

Jenn, opening her gift from Darren.

Lauren, catching it all on video.

The ceremony set up. That's the island from the Booze Cruise in the background.

Adam, the best man.

Darren, the groom.

Darren & Adam waiting patiently.

It was a bit warm on the beach!

Lauren, maid of honour.

Uncle Tom & Jenn

The handoff

A beautiful setting

Sealed with a kiss.

After the ceremony we headed to one of the resort restaurants for the reception.

My place setting.

Guestbook

The headtable...hey, there's that sword again!

First dance!

Lauren and I dancing the night away.

Wow! Even Scott dances sometimes. It must be the way they mix the drinks in Panama!

Up to the room to get the garter on.

Darren searching (rather unsuccessfully) for the garter.

What a fabulous afternoon and evening! Congrats to Jenn and Darren. We feel so lucky that we were able to be there to celebrate with you.

Panama: Life at the Resort

Here's just a collection of pictures!

Enjoying a mid morning snack beside the pool.

Jacob takes a morning siesta in the stroller.

Logan orders himself a strawberry drink!

A map of the giant resort!

One of many walks down the big hill.

Watermelon for breakfast.

An omelet and bacon for breakfast every day, he could get used to that!

Jacob's "cheese" face

Only these kids would play in a mud puddle with all the pools (and the ocean) around them!

Jacob loved splashing around in the water on the side of the pool.
