Jacob's 1st Birthday Party

A week before his actual birthday, we threw Jacob's 1st birthday party yesterday. We had our families come over and join us in celebrating his first year! The weather didn't cooperate so we were stuck inside but we had a yummy lunch, some great cakes and lots of laughs. As usual, I'll let the pictures tell the story.

No birthday would be complete without some power tools to put together new toys.

We were so lucky to be able to have so many members of our families here with us to celebrate. Just a few more days and the little guy will actually turn 1 year old!

Looking Back in Time...

Here's a quick photo recap of what we did in August since I didn't bother blogging...

We went to the 2nd birthday party of our neighbour Olivia.

We also went to Quinte Christian Music Camp for a week. We slept in a tent for a week and got decent sleep, we were pretty impressed!

It was a fun, but exhausting week for everyone.

I hope that the friends he makes at camp are great ones...and last for a lifetime.

Last Weekend (August 26 - 29)

Last Thursday we headed out to meet some of our friends from Music Camp at the Busker Carnival in uptown Waterloo. One of the buskers was a fellow camper and his act was performing at the opening ceremonies so we wanted to be sure to be out to support him.

We weren't able to stay after their show since it was close to bedtime but we did head back on Saturday to take in a few other acts.

On Sunday we went to a BBQ at our friend's Megan and Liam's house. I used to work with Megan at the University and they now have a son, Nicholas, who is about 1 month younger than Jacob. It was a beautiful day so we spent the afternoon outside watching the kids play in the yard.

This last photo was taken sometime this week. Logan likes me to make him a "cave" at the end of his bed in the mornings. After we have breakfast, we head upstairs and he plays in his cave reading books to all his animals.

Trip to the Bowling Alley

It was raining yesterday so we took the kids to the bowling alley after dinner. We're pretty sure that Logan is old enough to bowl in a "league" this year so we wanted to see if he was ready. He did really well! He listened to Scott and really tried to get the ball down the lane to hit the pins!

Bad Blogger

Yes. I've been a bad blogger. August was busy, I got behind on posting and so I gave up. I might back track and post about some of the things we did and I might not. We'll see.

In the meantime, I hope to start posting more regularly again!

An Awesome Reminder

Of God's promises to us.

After days of rain and cold weather it was refreshing to see this rainbow last night as we headed out. It's raining again this morning but it's always comforting to see a beautiful rainbow in the sky.
