His First Cookie

Logan was having some animal crackers for a snack one afternoon and he decided he would share one with Jacob. A nice gesture and I let him eat the cookie but I did ask Logan not to give him anymore cookies until he's older.

In the meantime, I did document the event since it was pretty cute!

Mmm....food...I put anything in my mouth.

Taking a bite...with his gums since he has no teeth.

Getting the full experience.

Are you sure this is ok, Mom? I'm going to shove it all in my mouth in case you change your mind!

Holding it all in there.

Almost done..

Mmm!

Hanging out at Home and A Visit to Grandma's

So the weather's been awful and Logan's still getting over being sick. I think we're going a little stir crazy around here but I have been taking lots of pictures!

When mom and I were in St. Jacob's on Mother's Day, I bought these really cool molds so Logan and I tried them out for breakfast one day! He loved eating a star shaped egg!

Logan making a list of things to buy...carrots, cucumbers, grapes and apples!

A great action shot!

My little man.

Jacob fixated on his mobile.

Jacob still has no teeth but the drooling and chewing has picked up recently, so perhaps there is one on the horizon?

Enjoying naked time before bed.

Today we had a big of a rough start after a bit of a long night. Since the boys were both up before Scott left for work this morning, we drove him to Guelph, called mom and headed to her place for the day. It was great to get out of the house and I think the boys got some extra napping in due to all the car rides!

I pulled over on the way to Norwich to snap this picture of Logan sleeping. He was hugging Blue Bear and holding his seat belt. What a cutie.

Jacob enjoying the toys at Grandma's.

Logan still seems to be recovering; he spent most of the day like this.

Jacob loved standing up a the window. I think he would have taken a bite out of the window if he could have!

Thanks Grandma! It was nice to get out of our house for the day!

When we left my mom's we drove to Guelph to pick Scott up from work and then went out to East Side Mario's for dinner. The boys were so well behaved. It was a nice finish to a long day.

Mother's Day and Other Odds and Ends

My mom came over for Mother's Day on the weekend. We had planned to have a nice brunch here at the house and then she and I were going to go to St. Jacob's to stroll through the village and check out all the shops.

The weather had been so nice leading up that I was really looking forward to going to St. Jacob's and was hoping to get some nice pics of the boys with my mom and I.

Well, those plans didn't exactly work out. First, Logan got the flu on Friday. He was pretty sick on Friday and Saturday but I was hoping that he'd at least be up to having some pics taken on Sunday. No such luck. Even though he wasn't physically sick anymore, he was tired and mopy and whiny.

Scott dressed him for brunch...

And this was the best/only pic we got of him.

He did sit at the table with us and ate a few grapes and strawberries, but he certainly wasn't himself. We quickly changed him back into his pjs and he spent the rest of the day napping and watching TV.

Brunch however, was AWESOME. We had...

Orange Pecan French Toast

A potato casserole and spinach salad.

Mom and I left sick little Logan and Jacob at home and headed to St. Jacob's. It was a great afternoon but certainly not warm and sunny like we had hoped it would be! When we came back home we had some more food to finish off the day.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to take the pictures sometime soon.

Here are some pictures I snapped of the boys one morning last week.

I have no clue what happened to the exersaucer, but Jacob keeps sinking down in it.

Logan got all this stuff on and said "Bye Mommy, I'm going to the store to buy carrots".

Happy boy in the sunshine.

Both the boys in a neat shot.

My 30th Birthday

I'm a bit behind again, like usual...oops.

I turned the big 3-0 last weekend. It wasn't really a huge deal to me. I'm 30 now, another year older...it happens.

Scott planned a really nice day for us, unfortunately plans were changed because of the rainy weather but we still had a great time.

He had planned a picnic at the park and invited some of our friends to join us. Since the rain made it impossible to be at the park, Mindy and her kids and Heidi managed to come over to our place and we had a great visit. We even treated the kids to an indoor picnic.

Not the greatest picture, but a shot of the "big" kids having their picnic. Bella insisted on being under the "picnic" blanket.

Emma looking rather comfy.

William, after thoroughly enjoying his meal.

And Jacob...wearing most of his food.

The "little" kids playing.

Once the rain had stopped, Scott graciously took the bigger kids outside to play.

I thought that this was a cool one of the three of them.

Playing in the sandbox...

...and the water table!

A few days before my birthday, Scott announced that he had an idea of what to make for my birthday dinner but that he wasn't sure if he could pull it off. When I inquired a bit further, I learned that he hoped to make lobster. I let him know that it sounded great that I would be of no help to him since I had never cooked lobster.

He stuck to his plan and made me a great birthday dinner that night after we put the boys to bed.

The pot

The unsuspecting lobsters

About to meet his demise!

(So I had hoped and planned to have more pictures of the live lobsters, but to be honest, it freaked me out WAY too much...so you'll just have to imagine).

Both cooking in the pot.

Fully cooked

Scott on the other hand was not freaked out about the lobsters.

The nicely set table.

A yummy lobster dinner!

It was a great meal, I really enjoyed it. And while I do plan to have lobster again in the future, it probably won't be made in my own kitchen...something about them be alive and dead and then eaten all in an evening is too much for me to handle!

Riann and Daine visited on Sunday and brought a yummy ice cream cake to celebrate my milestone.

Mmmm, gotta love DQ.

It was a great birthday!

A New Scooter

Last week, my mom, Scott and his girlfriend Jamie came over to spend the day with us. I'm pretty sure that Logan has a mad crush on Jamie so it was definitely a great day for him!

My mom won a scooter for Logan at a silent auction last week so she brought it with her for him to try out. Once we got it out of the box, I told him it was a scooter and asked him if he knew how to use it. He looked at me and said "Yes" quite convincingly so we let him at it...and he knew what to do right away!

Getting ready to get on..

Riding down the sidewalk!

Almost every day since, he's asked me if he can ride his "new" scooter.

Logan instructing everybody to sing!

Jacob hanging out in the backyard.

Logan and Jamie playing in the sandbox.

Scott and Jamie in the sandbox.

Logan helping me water and making quite the fashion statement!

It was a nice visit which ended in Scott, Jamie, mom and I heading to the Centre in the Square to see Jesus Christ Superstar. It was a good show, however, we all agreed that Ted Neely needs to retire!
