Back to Normal

Well it's been a while since I posted again, oops. We've fallen back into a nice routine around here now that Scott's back to work. Lots has been going on so I'll update in point form and put the pictures throughout.

- We missed Christmas at my grandma's house so we went to visit her last weekend. It was a great drive up there, sunny all the way and we had a nice visit. Logan calls his grandma's "Bubba" (we have no idea why) so he calls my grandma, Great-Bubba GG. It's pretty cute. She kept a bunch of toys that we used to play with at her house as kids so Logan plays with them now.

In the car on the way. Logan likes to wear his hat in the car, I always offer for him to take it off but he likes to keep it on.

His first taste of tomato juice...

It looks like he didn't like it but he drank almost the whole glass so it was a success!

- The cats have begun to sleep on the pillow that we bought for them to cozy up on in front of the fireplace. I've only seen Peanut using it so far, but that's progress. Plus she only uses it when Logan is sleeping...he's a bit loud for her taste. But hey, it's working.

Peanut on the pillow. You can see Cheeto's fur on the left hand side of the picture...on Jacob's playmat...he still hasn't gotten the hint.

- We've resumed our frequent visits to the mall. Since we don't have access to the car during the day and with it being so cold out we often bundle up and go to the mall so Logan can run. We don't normally go in any stores, we just wander around.

Logan enjoying a drink and taking a break from running.

Jacob concentrating hard to get at his toy. I don't often put him in the carseat in the stroller anymore, just straight in the seat. He loves looking around and Logan likes to be able to turn around and see him. Jacob stays awake for a bit and eventually falls alseep.

No trip to the mall would be complete without a visit to the rides!

He only gets to actually have them move when Grandma comes but he's happy just to sit in them too!

- Jacob's really growing up fast! At the doctor last week he weighed in at 11 lbs and 3 oz, up more than a pound from the month before. He's still on the low end but he's gaining and is healthy. Recently he's started rolling over pretty often from front to back and is babbling like crazy. At the library this week I had to nurse him just so he would be quiet so the other kids could hear the librarian reading the story. He loves talking right now.

First time in the Jolly Jumper!

First time in the exersaucer.

In a cute hat.

Such a strong little guy!

- Logan has developed a couple obsessions lately. One is wearing bibs. It's probably because Jacob is almost always wearing a bib but he wants to a lot of the time too. He also loves money, well just coins. If he finds money he puts it in his wallet, his pocket or his piggy bank. He's always checking our pockets for change too.

Sporting a green bib.

Looking for his pocket...

Found it!

Digging in his wallet.

- Today we made our first real trip out to play in the snow. There just hasn't been much snow yet and it's hard to get both kids bundled up and get outside. I think I spent as much time getting them dressed as we did outside, but Logan had fun.

He loved riding in the sled (I think we need a bigger one though) and kept telling me to run and go faster!

Jacob was there too. Look how blue the sky was!

Getting around is much more difficult in full snow gear.

On the big boy swing!

- I'm attempting to work out and get a bit healthier now that it's the new year. I've been following Jillian Michaels 30 Shred DVD. It's a HARD workout but I do find it a bit easier each time i do it. We also have Wii Fit Plus now and try to get on there every once and a while.

- Scott and Logan started a dance class together tonight called Ya-Ba-Da-Ba Dance. Logan apparently loved it and showed me some of his new "moves" when they got home.

I'll finish out with some random pictures of the boys.

Cute guy.

Logan vegging out and zoning in on the TV.

He's quite the multitasker. He didn't want to put down his favourite toys to colour so he just juggled everything.

Logan doesn't often like to wait downstairs by himself while I try to get Jacob down for his nap (which sometimes takes a while). So he's taken to coming up with me and sitting in the glider reading until I'm done with Jacob. He sits so quietly and looks at books. Sometimes if Jacob gets really upset he'll say "Shh Jacob, it's ok." He's pretty cute. :)

The many expressions of Jacob..

Happy New Year!

I'll welcome 2010 with pictures from around our house the last week or so. We've really enjoyed having Scott home from work to spend extra time with us. Logan will certainly be in withdrawal when he goes back to work on Monday. We've got one more day together before we get back into real life!

Our littlest Canadian.

We use our fireplace as the main source of heat in our house and the cats LOVE the warmth that it gives off. They always lie on Jacob's playmat as seen above since it's often close by to the fire. Recently, I bought the big pillow that you can see in the picture so that they have something soft to sleep on. It's not going so well...they won't lie on it and still choose the playmat...silly cats!

Earlier in the week, Logan slipped while he was running around and hit his head on the corner of one of our end tables. Scott ended up taking him to the ER to have it checked out and stitched up. They arrived around 7:30pm and left around 2am and hadn't even seen a doctor yet! It was going to be hours still before he would get to see a doctor and although it seemed like the wound needed a stitch or two, it wasn't that bad, so Scott signed them out.

Our little guy who typically goes to bed at 7pm on the dot was a trooper and did so well and didn't fall asleep until close to 1am! He promptly fell back asleep when they got home and slept in only 1 hour later than usual!

Little guy sleeping at the hospital. He fell asleep in Scott's arms and then Scott put him in the bed.

We saw our family doctor the next day who said everything looked fine. He couldn't get a stitch at this point because it had been too long but it seems to be healing well.

His ouchie a couple of days later.

Logan playing in Jacob's exersaucer...he's a bit big for it!

Wearing some REALLY cute pjs that he got for Christmas. he likes the penguin.

Trying to grab the camera from me.

Jacob hanging out before bed.

On Wednesday this past week, I took the boys to my mom's place and Scott stayed home to build a pantry for the kitchen. We've needed more space in the kitchen for a while and I'm SO happy with the outcome, it's awesome!

With the doors closed.

All filled up! My favourite feature is the spot to keep the brooms!

One last addition is our new TV! We scored a great deal on boxing day and now have and even bigger surface to watch cartoons on, haha.

2010 should be a great year! I'll be home with the boys for most of it (hopefully all of it!) and we'll spend time watching them grow and change and seeing lots of friends and family.

The Olympic Torch

If the craziness of Christmas wasn't enough, the Olympic Torch came through Kitchener Waterloo on December 27. Since we don't know if or when this will ever happen again, we decided that we would go. It was actually stopping for the day in Kitchener and they had events running from 4pm - 8pm with the torch arriving at 7pm. We had an early dinner and headed out to face the crowds.

Logan and Blue Bear waiting in the car.

There were SO many people there when we arrived at City Hall. We wandered around for a while, got a few free bottles of special edition Coke and took our places to see the torch.

Even the protesters were there.

There was a display of torches from Olympics past.

This year's torch.

The stage...we were pretty far back.

Jacob taking it all in. I turned him around to be facing me shortly after this picture and he fell asleep in the middle of everything.

Logan and Daddy.

Jacob and Mommy.

Typical shot of Logan just amazed with everything going on.

Helping Logan get a better view.

This is a cute shot, I think.

We were in a spot where there were lots of protesters around. I was fine until I saw this cop who even had safety glasses on. At that point, I wondered if they were expecting more than the controlled protest that we had seen up until this point. Luckily nothing more happened.

Here it comes!

They switched torchbearers just in front of us.

Passing on the flame...

Off it goes!

Just before we left to go home...Jacob was there too...just too low to be in the picture.

Happy little Canadian at home.

We had our picture taken with a torch but I haven't been able to get it from the icoke website yet, once I do, I'll be sure to post it.

Christmas at Our House

Since we were away for the day on Christmas Day, we had our own Christmas here at home on Boxing Day. Logan didn't wake up quite as early but we waited for Jacob to wake up (and for Scott to run out and get a Boxing Day deal) before we opened our presents.

We put the stockings and a couple gifts from Santa out the night before in the living room which Logan didn't notice at first. But when Scott came home, he went upstairs to say hi and found what was waiting in the living room. He came running back downstairs with his new Percy train and a toy for Jacob. I guess next year we will have to be a bit more careful!

Getting into his stocking.

Jacob...not sure what to think.

I was trying to get a picture of him beside his stocking but he kept falling over.

Here begins a series of pictures, none of which are that great. But this is all we have of the two of them on Christmas morning. I couldn't get the tape measure away from Logan...

This one is funny because they are both reaching up...I think Logan is trying to get his tape measure back.

Once Logan had emptied his own stocking, he helped everyone else.

Helping daddy...

Helping Mommy...

And giving Jacob his new bibs.

Scott in his new hat.

We had to stop every once and a while and let Logan investigate his gifts more. Here he is playing with his new Magna Doodle, wearing his new Thomas slippers with his new cup beside him.

I thought this was a cool shot.

Jacob with his new kangaroo.

Logan serving coffee (or "hot foffee as he calls it) from his new kitchen.

Drinking some "foffee"

My parents and Pamela and Scott came over around lunch time to spend the day before Pamela flew out that evening. Mom and dad brought all the fixings for a turkey dinner and we cooked it all up.

Logan opening up another present. This one was from my aunt and uncle. We weren't able to see them but they sent the gifts with my parents for the boys. Thanks!

After dinner we visited a bit more and then everyone left to take Pamela to the airport. It was a great Christmas!
